Happy Birthday to The New Years, Furry Four Legged Friend

R-Dog turned 11 on New Years Day, in human years thats 77 years, which ain't too shabby when you think about it. I mean the old-girl has been through lots in the past three years two operations, lots 'o' antibiotics, NSAIDs and some herbal treatments not to mention the weekly, bi-weekly and now monthly baths come to think about it R-Dog has had more baths in one year than most dogs get in a lifetime.

Anyway, R-Dog is pretty spry for her age she runs sometimes walks up and down 5 carpeted but not padded, wooden steps to chase rabbits squirels and other varmints 10 if not 20 times a day. Consider that and the amount of time following us around hounding for additional grub after she has eaten any of her scheduled meals during the day she gets lots of activity. She is really schedule crazy if I am not outside in the morning before 11am every morning she follows me from room to room barking until I go outside prepared to brush her coat and then there is a certain way I must brush, especially her back and don't dare touch the tail even if it needs brushing. Such actions will be met with snapping turtle antics and running about chortling like an indignant chipmunk-basenji on steroids. All in All, She really is quite comical and must be seen to be appreciated. I now must take advantage of the quiet time while she is napping so everyone have a Happy New Year

Saturday's Insight

Today is Saturday, a day of rest for me and the family. The dog, having just returned from her walk with the hubby is reclining on the floor panting near the air-conditioning vent. It is only 10:33 AM and already she is feeling the signs of the heat and humidity to come. What to do with a crazy roo. She is now barking, a clear sign that breakfast must be delivered pronto or the hounding will continue at a fevered pitch.
Breakfast has been delivered the barking has ceased.

Today's blog entry will be fairly calm. I have done all my ranting this week on my townhall.com blog. Now having dumped the contents of political bellowings on my readers, I am free to be civil, maybe for the entire weekend, perhaps to resume Monday, who knows. I think some reading is required. Perhaps I will finish reading
"Liberalism is a Mental Disorder" by Michael Savage or I may decide to start a new book or perhaps the bible needs consulting today. Regardless of what I decide, I am quite sure there will be no blogging today.

One last thought, whatever you decide to do today, stay in a cool place, stay hydrated and don't over-exert.

Next Blog: The trials and treatments (with Cranberry Capsules - they may be working)! of Rusty and her unresolved bladder problems.
